I’m looking forward to having a place to write about what we’ve been up to that isn’t a social media platform – I’m already excited to look back on these posts one day.

we’ll see how the posting goes, but some tentative writing prompts I’d personally like to try include short weekly recaps, announcements, and technical breakdowns of “how it’s done”. I’m not going to commit to any kind of posting schedule though – just going to post when the mood strikes me!

for this inaugural post, I’ll just share a little about the ingredients for this website and how it was cooked:

website recipe

bought our domain bug.band on namecheap (incredible domain for us specifically, and the only thing we had to pay for)

wrote our site using hugo, an open source static site generator

hosted our site on netlify

hosted our site code, deploy action, and oauth flow on codeberg.org (a cooler, less ai-pilled version of github… they expressly disallow vibe-coded projects in their ToS, for example)

added the ui for authenticated posting via the web using svletia cms (I’m literally writing this post on the browser as we speak. this may seem commonplace to most bloggers, but may moderately impress fellow static site generator users)

that’s all

you can keep up with us by subscribing to this website via RSS (as of today), and/or wishlist our game on steam.
